Committeewoman Sarah Cannon-Moye

I am a 30-year resident of Edgewater Park. My husband, two young children, and I moved to this small, wonderful town in 1993 after completing active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Our children attended Magowan Elementary and Ridgway Middle Schools.

After completing active duty, I joined the Air National Guard and served over 25 years at Joint Base McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst. While assigned at McGuire, I was deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and served a tour at the National Guard Bureau with direct interaction with high-ranking Pentagon officials.  I retired in 2020 from the service as an E-9, Chief Master Sergeant.

I served on the Edgewater Park Environmental Shade Tree Committee for several years, and I helped secure NJ grants to plant and maintain street trees and shrubs, including in Silver Lake Park during its restoration. Prior to my deployment, we also started a Township tree inventory to obtain further grant funding from the State. I also volunteered for several years coaching EPAA and Special Olympics Bowling, Basketball, and Track & Field teams.

I look forward to serving our community to ensure we extend the progress the Democratic team has made. I will strive to maintain our 0% municipal tax rate, support and improve our Recreation programs for all people, and continue my work with trees and the environment to address the vital issues affecting township citizens.

Thank you.
