Committeeman Michael Trainor
My wife Teresa and our children moved to Edgewater Park over 15 years ago and we still feel that we couldn’t have made a better choice of where to live and raise our family. Edgewater Park still has that small town feel which is something you don’t find many places anymore.
My friend and running mate, the late John McElwee, and I came up with our campaign slogan, “Committed to Community, Dedicated to Progress” in 2013. That still personifies my feelings toward serving the public.
For more than a decade I have given my time and being to public servitude. Initially, I donated my time through youth athletics by way of coaching then sitting on the Executive Board of the Edgewater Park Athletic Association for 6 years. During and after that time, I became involved with township advisory committees. In 2003, I was sworn into the Edgewater Park Economic Redevelopment committee. Following that I became more active as a member of the Environmental committee, Planning Board and the Recreation committee. In 2005 I joined the Burlington County Democratic Committee serving District 4. I am currently representing my district for the BCDC. In 2012 the Edgewater Park Democratic Committee asked me to run for a vacant seat on the Edgewater Park Township Committee. In January of 2013, I was sworn in as a Committeeman for Edgewater Park. In 2014 I was sworn in as the Deputy Mayor privileged to serve alongside my mentor, the Honorable Mayor Tom Pullion. In 2015 and 2016 I served the residents of Edgewater Park Township as their Mayor. To date I remain on Township Committee with my current term expiring on December 31st of 2021. In addition to my commitment to the town of Edgewater Park, I also sit as the Chairman of the River Route Economic Development Steering Committee. A committee of 16 municipalities focused on building commerce in communities along Route 130 and the Delaware River.
I enjoy being a part of our community and being able to help in many ways. As always, if you need anything please reach out to me. I will certainly assist in any way possible.
