The Edgewater Park Township Environmental Advisory Committee composed of five regular members, was created for the protection, development or use of natural resources within the limits of Edgewater Park Township.
The duties of the Environmental Advisory Committee include, but are not limited to, the review of development applications in order to ensure that the proposed development will not cause significant harm to the natural environment, that the proposed development will not place an excessive demand upon the total resources available for such proposal and, to determine whether the proposed development has been designed with a view toward the protection of natural resources. The Committee is advisory to the Planning Board in the case of development applications.
The Committee provides the Township Committee with recommendations concerning open space preservation, water resource management, air pollution control, solid waste management, soil and landscape protection and environmental appearance.
