Advanced written notice was published in the Burlington County Times and the Courier Post. The agenda was posted on the Township’s website as of August 14, 2020.

4. Swearing in new Township Clerk:

At a special meeting of Township Committee on August 5, 2020, the Township Committee reviewed applicants and selected a Township Clerk – (Mr. Brandon Garcia), for the period of August 15, 2020 through August 15, 2023.

At this time, I would ask Mr. Garcia and Mayor Amutah to come forward to administer the oath of office.

5.  OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR AGENDA ITEMS ONLY:                  CLOSED

6. DISCUSSION(S)/PRESENTATION(S)/AUTHORIZATION(S)/CONSIDERATION(S):

          EPAA – public function approved at July 21, 2020 meeting – (Approval No. 2020-3), included Fall Soccer, Baseball, and Softball. Since that time, the EPAA has decided to have only Travel Soccer. Kite and Memorial fields will not be used. Practices will be Mon-Friday – 5pm-9pm. Games will be on Saturdays for Girls and Sunday for Boys.

          Construction Department- Current Construction official proposing move to (5) day work schedule. Current official would discontinue services to another Municipality and devote (5) days to Edgewater Park. If interested, Administrator would look at possible contract with current Construction Official for Committee’s review and approval.

          Police Department - (3) individuals currently have the time to retire from the force with a 4th officer within 3-4 years. Faced with this possibility, timing might be right for promotion(s) and look to add additional officers. Advantage is to have the experienced officers around to influence and train new officers which of course will not be available should they retire.

Buildings- Possible conversion of Weinman Building into “cooling” facility and possible small scale disaster center. Building has most of the necessary attributes to serve as spot for folks to come and cool off, get refreshments and food and with minimal investment(s), provide charging stations for phones, etc. Since the facility has a kitchen and restrooms, the facility could also support a small group of displaced individuals for a short period of time.

Upgrades would include – charging stations, shower, generator and possible TV and any other entertainment for children and/or young adults.
