12/8/2017 - Passing of Deputy Chief William "Bill" Troster- Beverly Fire Department

Hello Everyone,

I am very sad to report the passing of Deputy Chief William "Bill" Troster of the Beverly City Fire Department. Bill was a 38 year member of the Beverly Fire Company serving the residents of Beverly City and Edgewater Park Township. I pass this information on a little late out of respect to his family and Fire Department family, as I wanted to give them the time to make their notifications first.

Besides being a person who loved and cared for his Community, Bill loved his family and friends most! I was Iucky to have known Bill for many years and am honored to call him a friend. Bill was chosen to be the Chief of the Fire Department in 2018 and was excited for his opportunity to serve. We had already spoken several times about improving the relationships between the Fire Company, Police, and EMS Services into the future and different ideas about training and future improvements he could make to serve the community at an even higher level than the Fire Company does already. He had great pride in the Fire Department and was eager to serve each member in his new capacity.

Rest now Bill and have the confidence in knowing that you made the Fire Department a better place with your time served. The younger members you mentored and the veteran members that respected your opinions are better and safer having the opportunity to know you as a person. They all learned from your experience, wisdom, kindness, and love for others. I know that your fellow Firefighters will carry on the pride and tradition of service you had and will lead the Department into the future.

On behalf of the Edgewater Park Twp. Police Department, Township of Edgewater Park Committee, Staff, Residents, and myself, thank you Deputy Chief Troster for your service. Our love goes to Bill's Family and Friends and to his Fire Department Family, our Brothers and Sisters in red. We love you, and offer our support and condolences! A special Thank You to Bill's family for sharing your time with him, with us! You sacrificed your time so that he could serve his community and that is why we always pay respect to the families of our public servants! Please keep Bill's family in your thoughts and prayers and take the time to thank our Firefighters for their service!
