Well its November and the holidays are quick approaching. You may notice that some of my officers look like they forgot to shave before coming to work..... Not to worry, they haven't all decided to violate the Department's Grooming Policy, they are joining with many other Police Departments and are participating in NO SHAVE NOVEMBER!! The Officers recently came to me and asked to take part in this fund raising effort, and I couldn't help but join in the effort and support my officers and this great initiative!
The Edgewater Park Township Police Department has joined with our brothers and sisters at the Burlington City Police Department and are participating in No Shave November to support "Team Becky". Team Becky is named for Becky Scott. Becky was a Paramedic in Burlington County and was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her courageous fight inspired everyone around her and inspired other victims of cancer to fight and never give up! Our Police Departments are raising money to donate towards the medical expenses and Christmas wishes of a sick young person.
Our Participating Officers each donated $50 of their own money and are raising additional money by selling "Team Becky" bracelets! These bracelets are sold for $5 each and can be purchased by asking a Police Officer or by stopping down to the Police Station during business hours! We hope to get your support for this awesome cause and thank you, as always, for your support to our Department! To tell you how proud I am to see our Officers take part in this effort to raise money for this young person who needs our support and love is an understatement!
Take care and have a safe and happy holiday season!!
Go Team Becky!
