Citizen Fingerprint Information

The New Jersey State Police, State Bureau of Identification has determined that, as of May 15, 2008, the following categories (below) of non-criminal fingerprinting will be conducted by the State-contracted vendor, MorphTrak/IdentGo

The Edgewater Park Township Police Department will no longer provide fingerprinting services for these categories.

Given this information, all Volunteer Review Operations, Volunteer Care Providers, Personal Record Requests, and Employment Checks that require fingerprinting will be conducted using the State-contracted vendor, MorphoTrak/IdentGo.

The Edgewater Park Township Police Department WILL provide fingerprinting service to those who are given the State “Blue” Applicant Card for employment purposes.  These services will ONLY BE PROVIDED TO IDENTIFIED TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS.  These services will only be provided during Police Business Hours.

Those needing fingerprints for any other reason are to go to the New Jersey State Police website, www.njsp.org, for additional assistance.  Once on the website, you can click on the services window and a drop-down menu will appear.  Click Criminal Background Check for additional information and downloadable forms for the fingerprinting reasons noted below:

To be fingerprinted for one of the purposes listed above, contact MorphoTrak/IdentGO to schedule an appointment.  The most convenient way to schedule an appointment is via the internet at www.bioapplicant.com/nj.  Internet scheduling is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.  Applicants who do not have internet access may call the company’s toll-free number at (877) 503-5981 (Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm).  MorphTrak/IdentGO provides a toll-free TTY telephone number, (800) 673-0353, for hearing impaired applicants with a modern equipped telephone.  Spanish speaking operators are also available upon request.  Applicants must download and complete the appropriate universal form prior to contacting MorphoTrak/IdentGO for a fingerprint appointment.  The completed universal form must be brought to the applicant’s scheduled fingerprint appointment.  The applicant must also bring the proper identification as noted on the universal form.

Residents who need to be fingerprinted for the purposes of a background check must make an appointment with the recognized vendor for the New Jersey State Police. The current vendor is MorphoTrak. Township residents who are given a set of fingerprint cards to be printed as part of a background check may report to the Edgewater Park Township Police Department at 400 Delanco Rd, Edgewater Park, NJ 08010, Monday through Thursday during normal business hours. Only local residents WITH their own fingerprint cards may receive service in this manner.
